"A delightful group, fronted by two of the most

adorable faeries you could ever wish to meet (or hear)".

Karen Kay, 3 Wishes Faerie Festival Organiser.

"A quartet who specialise in reels and jigs [...] The Celtic folk tunes make sure everyone is enraptured and absorbed as instruments as varied as the bodhran and flute are enjoyably utilised. Their look, feel and sound is something a little different from the norm!"

Martin Stapleton, Bedford Esquires.

"If you want faeries with attitude, then this pair of musical fae fit the bill perfectly... Not only are they beautiful, but they also serve up a mean tune!"

18.11.08 - Review of 'TROOPING' By Luthien The Faerie Witch - A fellow faerie who came across our music on the internet...

http://faewitch.blogspot.com/2008/11/faeries-wear-boots-trooping-cd-review_15.html

Released in time for the 3 Wishes Faery Festival at Bodmin in 2008 where the band also gigged, this is the first CD from Faeries Wear Boots. The band is Chrissie Miller - banjo, mandolin, whistles and guitar, Polly Keeble - flute and whistles, Andrew Miller - bouzouki, didgeridoo, bodhran and pipes & Robby Miller - guitars. The band describe themselves as a fusion of folk music and 8-inch platform boots, with a love of all things dark, gothic, shiny, folk and fae. The music combines British and Irish folk music reels with a driving beat and rockin' electric guitars.

The Trooping EP features 4 tracks:

Hog Faeries, in the style of a lilting Irish jig that flies along at a furious pace.

Chasing Erin, a slightly slower piece initially this soon picks up an electric guitar and begins to step up the action making me think that the faeries have been listening to more than just Black Sabbath, do I detect undertones of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells?

Boys of Bedlam, featuring the vocals of Stephen Jones, a very polished piece combining simple acoustic guitar and vocal segments with a jig that is a compulsory toe tapper!

Mr Monaghan's Magical Fairy Dust, this begins as a gentle strum but don't be fooled it quickly turns into another fast fingered Irish piece that crashes headlong into some heavy guitar playing and pounds along at a pace that sweeps you off your feet. My favourite by a hairs breadth.
