21.08.10 - New FWB Line-Up...
The Rhythm Festival was also particularly special for FWB as it saw the unveiling of what we hope will be our new line-up; we were delighted to be joined by Alex Monaghan (yes people who own the EP, that is the ACTUAL Mr Monaghan from the track ‘Mr Monaghan’s Magical Faerie Dust!) adding whistles and melodeon to the Faeries Wear Boots mix. Alex will also be joining us for the remainder of this year’s festival season.
But not only have we incorporated another melody instrument, we were also joined by Chris Thatcher on drums, who we hope will be a permanent member of the FWB team when he’s not playing with his own band, Pearl Handled Revolver (check them out at www.pearlhandledrevolver.co.uk) These certainly are exciting times and with the new heartbeat that Chris brings to the band spurring us on we’re already planning our festival performances for next year. 28.04.2010 - Summer Festivals for 2010!
We're back from our winter sleep and ready to play! This year we can confirm two close to home gigs (apologies to our lovely faerie-friends across Europe - we miss you all and wish we could come back to you... hopefully 2011).
Faeries Wear boots are pleased to announce that we will be playing at the Rhythm Festival, Clapham. The festival spans the weekend of 20th, 21st and 22nd August 2010. We will be playing on the Saturday, and are sharing the bill with the likes of The Waiters, The Men They Couldn't Hang and Roger Chapman... not to mention, The Damned, Billy Bragg and Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds!.

25.05.09 - Faeries Announced for Castlefest in Holland!
Castlefest is a festival to honour the sun, which at the Celts was worshipped as the god Lugh. This god brought mankind a lot of good things; he taught us how to grow grain and he warms the earth, so that the grain can grow and we can eat. The old Celtic harvest feast Lughnasadh is held in honour of this god. Up to this day heathens and Celts alike celebrate this feast yearly around the first of August, also on Castlefest!
FWB are delighted to be playing in Europe this summer, and honoured when we asked by pagan folk band Omnia to appear at this year's Castlefest. It's a long way to go, but we're going to have an awesome time - just look at the festival video! - why not come and join us?!
20.05.09 - Faeries Announced for 3 Wishes Faery Fest for the 2nd Year!
The 3 Wishes Faery Festival 2009 will be the third gathering of the faery clans and the mortal realms in Celtic Cornwall. For three fairytastic days humans and faerie folk can walk (or fly!) side-by-side in harmony, in celebration of the magical time of midsummer. The fairy ring is opening at this time, a gateway/portal into the realms of fae, an opportunity to glimpse into fairyland, and to experience how the "little people" celebrate their love of the sacred land - for they are the guardians and carers of our earth. "May the blessings of the faeries lighten your earthly journey with love, health, abundance, joy and infinite wishes!" says festival founder Karen Kay. FWB are delighted to be going back to Cornwall for the second time, and it will be our first festival with our new Faerie, Ciara. Times TBC, but we're looking forward to playing Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
09.03.09 - Spring News: Some Comings and Goings…
Firstly, I’m afraid this newsletter starts with some sad news. Polly has decided to leave the band.
Just after Christmas, after suffering for a long time from a shoulder injury, Polly decided that things were becoming too manic with FWB's increasing touring schedule, and decided to call it a day. Needless to say, we will miss Polly immensely as we were all close friends long before Faeries Wear Boots came to be, but she will always be a very special Faery friend who's contribution has been great. We wish her much faerie-love.
BUT! The flip-side to this is a happier note - we have a new member!
We’re pleased to announce the addition of the very lovely Ciara Callaghan, who will be joining us for all of our appearances this Summer. Ciara also happens to be another fabulous fluting-faery who brings with her a wealth of experience in playing traditional Irish music, and who’s excitable and outgoing character makes her a perfect addition to the band. We can’t wait to tour with her this year, and know that you’ll love her as much as we do.

The Celtic Myth Podshow will tell you ancient tales and legends of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man, bringing you the bravery of heroes and heroines, the magnificent pantheon of gods and goddesses and the magic and wonder of druids, faeries and folklore. It weaves together the rich, beautiful tapestry of mythological history, battles and sagas of the Celts. Each podcast lasts approximately 25 mins so you can sit down, get comfortable and listen every other week and listen to news, chat and a story from Celtic Mythology. Our tunes FWB are pleased to say that our tune 'The Faery Dance is available on the Christmas Music Special, (SP07) and Mr Monaghan's is available on New Year Music Special, (SP08).
